ARTWORK IN GENERAL
All the art work you see on my site is original unless identified as a reproduction (giclee). Almost any painting, unless it is mixed media, can be reproduced into a giclee. If you see an original painting that is for sale and you don't want to spend that much money and you don't see a giclee offered - email or call me and I can have one made especially for you. I will enhance it and it should take less than two weeks to get to you. My price to you will be approximately one third of the retail value and I can quote you a price prior to you ordering.
My painting are primarily from my travels. Some are painted on location, others are from photos I have taken and still others are out of my head. Regardless of the venue I try to paint with feeling and a passion. I trust that you can see this.
My style is contemporary, impressionistic and sometimes fairly realistic. I try to paint in the style that will best convey my interpretation of what I see in reality or in my minds eye.
Original oil paintings are sold unframed but stapled on stretcher bars. They are ready for framing or they can be hung without a frame. Watercolors are sold matted and ready for framing.
All my giclees are numbered. The original may or may not have been sold but the giclees are priced at one third to one half of the original's retail price. They are extremely good reproductions on canvas ready for framing. In most cases I have gone over the giclee and "enhanced" it by adding paint to provide additional texture and further the representation of an original painting. Giclees are usually shipped with stretcher bars ready for hanging or mounting in a frame. You can have the canvas shipped without stretcher bars if you desire.

Each painting sold will be accompanied by a letter of authenticity with a brief description of the subject.
COMMISSIONS:
If you have a particular subject you would like painted – I do commissioned paintings. They vary in cost depending on the size of the painting and the medium. Call me and we can discuss what you are looking for.
If you are looking for a large oil painting I will normally paint one or two quick watercolors and send them to you digitally for feedback. After you critique these two sketches I will paint an oil based on your feedback. When I think the painting is completed I will send you a digital photo of it or you can visit my studio and make comments. I will then make changes to the painting and either send you another photo or you can visit my studio again. If you want to make even more changes I will also do that without charge and again either send you a photo or you can visit my studio. If you still don't like the painting, which has never happened, but if it did then we would discuss your recommended changes and my fee for making those changes.
If you commission a watercolor my method differs based on the price and size of the painting. If for instance you want your dog painted this is normally a 13x21 inch watercolor and the cost is usually $400-$450. First, I would ask you to send me several photos. Together we would choose a photo or use several of them to base the painting on. I would then do the painting and let you know when it was finished. Then I would either send you a photo or you can visit my studio to see the painting. If you would like minor changes and they can be done without damaging the painting, I would make those changes. Lastly, I would double mat it so it would be ready for you to frame.
If you want a larger watercolor painting or I generally follow the same process that I use for an oil painting.
